To save newborns and premature infants, the Björn Steiger Foundation is using a special ambulance in which critically ill babies can be treated. Since 2017, Catnic has sponsored one of the vehicles that are stationed in many different locations in Germany.
The company is now also supporting the “Retten macht Schule” (“students learn to save lives”) project in which children are taught how to perform resuscitation measures and how to use a defibrillator starting in year seven. Although the Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs recommends integrating measures like these into the curriculum, schools often struggle to implement them.
Medical educators from the Björn Steiger Foundation provide initial on-site training for teachers and also supply the necessarily technical equipment for the lessons. “Every life counts”, says Udo Berg, General Manager of Catnic Deutschland GmbH.
