Two girls and one boy exploringon career orientations exploration at Catnic

Like in previous years, Catnic also participated in the 2018 Girls' and Boys' Days, as in previous years2018 and gave three students the opportunity to experience some non-stereotypical career choicess, on April 26th.

Emily Nowak (5th grade Kraichgau-Realschule Sinsheim) and Lena Freischlag (6th grade Realschule Waibstadt) experiencedgot an impression of the warehouseing and logistics department, exploring how incoming and outgoing goods are organised, which products are stored where, what commissioning means, and why, despiteeven with all the computer support, everything would fall apart in a minute without a forklift. Perhaps they will opt for an education in the warehouse logistics field, to ensurehelp make sure everything runs smoothly in their companies in the futurelater on.

Florian Wittkugel (5th grade Gymnasium Bammental), on the other hand, delved into office the administrative processes in an office, even also making phone calls to customers and learned how important it is to always remain attentive and friendly despite all the hustle and bustle of the business world. Even businessmenmerchants don’t onlyjust deal with numbers.

The Girls' Day was launched in Germany in 2001 and enjoys increased popularity year after year. In 2017, in excess of more than 10,000 companies provided more than 100,000 positions to help girls orient themselves in technical and scientific careers. Since 2011, there has been a counterpart called thed Boys' Day, to break free of male stereotypiccal career choices. The initiative is supported by the Federal Ministry of Families and the Federal Ministry of Education, as well as by business associations and unions.
